Toyota Tacoma Trim Levels
The Toyota Tacoma is a powerful and capable truck, ready to take on the city streets and off-road trails of Trevose, Philadelphia, and Bensalem.
But, with the Access and Double cab sizes and various trim levels to choose from, how do you know which version of this pickup truck is right for you?
We’ll help you decide with this in-depth look at the Toyota Tacoma trim levels. See what each trim has to offer, then contact Faulkner Toyota Trevose when you’re ready to see the truck in person.
Toyota Tacoma SR
Starting off the lineup is the Toyota Tacoma SR. This trim comes with a 2.7L 4-cylinder engine that gives you 159 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque. However, if you get a different cab size, you could get the 3.5L V6 engine that gives you 278 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque.
Not only does this pickup give you ample power, but it can tow a great deal. In fact, it has a maximum towing capacity of 6,800 pounds, for even your large equipment. Then, when you have features like an Automatic Limited-Slip Differential and Hill Start Assist Control, your Tacoma is ready to tackle challenging terrain.
The Tacoma SR5 offers the same performance features as the SR trim. It also comes with Toyota Safety Sense™ P, like the base trim. With features like Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and Automatic High Beams, this suite of driver-assisting technologies can help prevent an accident from occurring.
Not only can the features in the SR5 help keep you safe, but they help keep you entertained, as well. With the Entune™ Audio Plus infotainment system, you get HD Radio™ and SiriusXM® Satellite Radio. These apps let you access hundreds of stations, which can be seen on a 6.1-inch high-resolution touchscreen and heard through a 6-speaker sound system.
Tacoma TRD Sport
The 2019 Tacoma TRD Sport (TRD = Toyota Racing Development) lives up to its name from its exterior design. With this trim, you get a Gray grille with smoke finish and chrome surround, as well as 17-inch machined alloy wheels, for a truly athletic look and feel.
Inside, you’ll find a refined-looking cabin, with cloth-trimmed seats, plus a leather-trimmed steering wheel and shift lever. Plus, you have heated front seats, so you can stay cozy on even the coldest nights. Then, for entertainment, you have the Entune™ Premium Audio with Integrated Navigation and Entune® App Suite. So, not only will you get to your destination easily, but you can also stay connected to your mobile device the whole way there.
Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road
In the Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road, like the TRD Sport trim, you get just the 3.5L V6 engine that we mentioned before. In addition, like all the trims mentioned before, the vehicle comes in either real-wheel drive or 4WDemand part-time 4WD. With the latter, you’ll have confidence driving on even the slickest surfaces.
With “off-road” in the name, you know this trim can handle any type of terrain. This is largely due in-part to the Multi-terrain Select feature. There are five modes to choose from, with each one automatically adjusting the engine throttle and brakes to help improve traction. So, feel free to drive through the woods or on the beach—the Tacoma can handle it.
In the 2019 Toyota Tacoma Limited, you’ll have the same capabilities found in the TRD Off-Road. However, the interior gets a bit of an upgrade.
You’ll now find leather-trimmed seats in the cabin. These seats are 4-way adjustable, so you and your co-pilot can quickly get comfortable.
Furthermore, the Limited trim comes with even more driver-assisting technologies. There’s a Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, along with a rear parking assist sonar. If you signal to switch lanes, and a car is in your blind spot, you’ll see a flashing icon in the appropriate side mirror. Plus, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert will send an audible alert if a vehicle is approaching while you’re backing out of a parking spot.
Tacoma TRD Pro
The final 2019 Toyota Tacoma trim is the TRD Pro. With its heritage-inspired TOYOTA front grille, black badging, and hood scoop with graphic, the truck is showing others who’s boss. Plus, the projector-beam headlights with black sport bezels and Rigid Industries® LED fog lights look good and help you see better at night.
The unique look continues inside, with the truck having Black TRD Pro leather-trimmed heated front seats. With the fun design, plus an Entune™ Premium JBL® Audio infotainment system with Integrated Navigation and Entune® App Suite, you’ll be sure to have lots of fun on even the longest drives.
