Toyota 5,000-Mile Inspection

Toyota recommends that an inspection be performed every 5,000 miles with most vehicles. At the first mile marker, the inspection includes the following:

• Check installation of driver's floor mat
• Rotate tires
• Inspect wiper blades
• Inspect and adjust fluid levels
• Visually inspect brakes

You can also ask about adding Toyota EFI Tank Additive to your fuel tank. Our technicians recommend having this service performed along with your inspection as it helps remove deposits from fuel injectors and intake valves. This could boost your fuel economy and helps provide smooth acceleration.

Inspection at 10,000 Miles

The Toyota inspection at 10,000 miles includes many of the same checks as the previous service with one important addition: an oil and oil filter replacement.

It’s important to get your oil changed every 10,000 miles or once a year, whichever comes first. Fresh oil helps keep your engine clean and cool. This may help extend its lifespan and prevent unexpected service repairs. The techs will also replace the oil filter, which helps catch dust and dirt that would otherwise end up in your engine.

15,000-Mile Toyota Inspection

When your vehicle hits 15,000 miles, there are a handful of added inspections you should have performed. Technicians should inspect the following:

• Radiator, condenser, and/or intercooler (if applicable)
• Steering system and drive shaft
• Ball joints
• Brake lines and hoses
• Exhaust system
• Cabin air filter

As you continue to enjoy the ride in your Toyota, these inspections should be repeated at their respective 5,000-, 10,000-, and 15,000-mile intervals. A certified technician may also suggest replacing certain components as they begin to experience wear and tear. This will help keep your Toyota in tip-top shape so you can continue to enjoy it for years to come.

PA State Inspections at our Toyota Service Center

In addition to the manufacturer-recommended Toyota inspections, we can also handle PA state inspections here at our service center that need to be completed once a year. Luckily, many of the required inspections will already be covered if you keep up to date with the manufacturer recommendations.

The PA state inspection is a safety check that requires examination of mechanical components and electrical systems to help ensure your safety and that of other motorists on the road. It also includes an emissions test to make sure your vehicle is burning fuel as cleanly as possible.

Our technicians will also need to take your vehicle out for a short road test. They’ll check to make sure the odometer is counting properly and that all equipped safety systems are performing at their best.
