How to Connect My Phone to My Toyota

If you’re driving a Toyota vehicle—or considering purchasing one–a prominent feature you’ll have is the ability to integrate your mobile phone with the car. Via features such as Apple CarPlayÒ, Android Autoä, and Amazon Alexa, you’ll be able to perform a number of important tasks from the road, such as making calls and sending texts.

How do you connect your phone to your Toyota to take advantage of these features, though? In this piece, our team at Faulkner Toyota Trevose will help drivers near Philadelphia, Bensalem, and Trevose, PA, answer that question.

Pairing Device With Toyota

In order to get the most out of your Toyota driving experience, you’ll definitely want to connect your phone to the vehicle. This will provide you with seamless connection while on the go, enabling you to take calls and send texts safely and will also allow you to use a number of impressive features.

These include Apple CarPlayÒ and Android Autoä as well as music streaming capability. Further, connecting your phone will allow you to add a layer of personalization to your Toyota. To do so, just follow the steps below!

Turn on Bluetooth®

You’ll be able to connect your phone to your Toyota via BluetoothÒ technology. This will allow you to connect wirelessly. However, you’ll first need to make sure you have BluetoothÒ turned on in your phone’s settings.

Go to “Menu” on Toyota Display

Once you’ve turned on your phone’s BluetoothÒ, you’ll need to turn your attention to your Toyota’s display screen, find the menu, and click on it. Here, you’ll see a “Setup” button. You’ll want to press this, then you’ll be taken to another menu.

Pairing Device With Toyota

Click “Bluetooth” on Display

Once you’ve reached the Setup menu, there will be an option to select BluetoothÒ. Click this selection. Then, click “Add New Device.”

Add Device

Once you’ve selected the “Add New Device” option, you’ll be taken to a screen with a list of devices. You’ll want to find the name of your device (phone) and select it. If you’re unsure of your device’s name, you can likely find it in your phone’s settings.

Verify Connection

Once you’ve added your device, a pop-up should appear on the screen with a PIN number that identifies your Toyota vehicle. Make sure the PIN that pops up on your device matches the PIN of your Toyota.

Allow Message Access

While your phone connects, you may be prompted to allow message access on your device. In order to do so, you’ll need to enter the settings on your phone and allow access. On an Apple device, this setting will say “Show Notifications” while on an Android, it will read “ON.” In either case, this access needs to be turned on to allow message access.

Verify Connection

Once the process is completed, a verification will appear on your Toyota’s screen, and you’ll have successfully paired your phone with your Toyota vehicle!

Explore in Your Toyota

Now that you’ve successfully paired your phone with your Toyota, you’ll be ready to start exploring near Philadelphia, Bensalem, and Trevose, Pennsylvania. If you need further assistance or have any questions about your Toyota, please contact us at Faulkner Toyota Trevose. We’ll be happy to help!
