2019 Toyota Tacoma Review
When it comes to a pickup truck, the first thing you typically think of is towing. The Toyota Tacoma can tow up to 6,800 pounds, enough to bring along all your favorite toys. What you may not know is that this truck is also great for off-roading.
We’ll tell you more about it in our Toyota Tacoma review. Discover how this pickup can enhance your travels around Trevose, Philadelphia, and Bensalem, and contact us at Faulkner Toyota Trevose if you have any questions.
Tacoma: Off-Road Warrior
The Toyota Tacoma is equally capable on the city/highway streets as it is off the beaten path. One reason is for the Multi-Terrain Select feature. You’ll have five modes to choose from, with each one regulating wheelspin by automatically adjusting the engine throttle and brakes. This will ultimately help improve traction on any type of road.
The truck will even perform well on rocky and hilly terrain. With Crawl Control, the throttle and brakes are modified between five low-speed settings, so you can focus on navigating across bumpy terrain. And getting up the hilly landscape is easy, thanks to Hill Start Assist Control. It’ll hold the brakes, giving you time to move your foot from the brake pedal to the gas. This way, you won’t roll backwards when on an incline.
Toyota Tacoma Towing & Payload Capacities
A 3.5L V6 engine and available Tow Package help the Toyota Tacoma get its high towing capacity. Plus, Trailer-Sway Control is useful when towing heavy equipment. It applies brake pressure at individual wheels and manages engine torque to maintain control of your trailer.
In addition, the truck can haul up to 1,440 pounds. Its bed is made from an ultra-durable, fiber-reinforced Sheet-Molded Composite surface. It can withstand impact better than steel, and it’ll help keep the bed looking good for a long time.
Not only can the bed hold a lot of items, but with the deck rail system, it’s easy to strap everything down. It has C-channel frames and four heavy-duty adjustable tie-down cleats. With these features in place, your stuff isn’t going anywhere.
While the outside of the Tacoma can handle your travels, the inside will keep you entertained until you reach your destination.
It comes standard with the Entune™ Audio infotainment system. Your media options can be accessed on a 6.1-inch touchscreen and heard through a 6-speaker sound system. Plus, Bluetooth® technology will help you stream audio or make phone calls while keeping your eyes on the road and your hands on the steering wheel.
For more media options, there’s the available 3-month trial subscription to SiriusXM® Satellite Radio. This will give you over 100 channels of sports, news, comedy, and commercial-free music to choose from.
Furthermore, you can leave your phone charger at home, thanks to the available Qi-compatible wireless smartphone charging. Place your compatible mobile device on top of the nonslip surface to keep it charged up and ready to go.
